Can a Website's New Hero Section Bring in More Clients?

February Focus on Villa Bookings

February. The month of love, but also a month where many are dreaming of warmer climates and planning their summer getaways.

I’d say that’s too soon. But as I’m sitting in Croatia, nothing is too soon.

See, the Adriatic Sea is some 200 km away from Zagreb, where I’m writing this blog article.

So, it’s high time for villa owners to think about reaching new clients, even by way of refreshing their website’s hero section.

The Project with My Client: Introduce a New Hero Section

I’d like to talk about my client who reached out to me to increase bookings on her website. That through organic reach. By writing an SEO optimised blog article.

But before that, we had to redesign her homepage: create a new hero section.

Not many villa owners (or hotel operators) think that they need this - a new hero section to attract clients.

In a competitive market, simply having a website isn't enough.

Fresh, engaging content is key, and a revamped hero section can be the difference between a browsing visitor and a confirmed booking.

Below I’m showing you the old hero section for my client’s website:

The old hero section contains an AI-like wording. “Unlock” is very AI. So, we had to swiftly change the copy in this section.

And this below is the new hero section for an agency renting villas along the Croatian coast.

Update Your Web Content - 3 Months Before the Holidays

Why is constantly updating your website copy, especially in February, so vital?

  1. Firstly, search engines love fresh content.

  2. Secondly, new content gives returning visitors a reason to engage with your site again.

Regularly adding new text, images, and even videos signals to Google and other search engines that your website is active and relevant. This can positively impact your search ranking, making it easier for potential guests to find you.

New content gives returning visitors a reason to engage with your site again. If your site looks the same every time they visit, they're less likely to spend time exploring or consider booking.

For villa owners in February, the focus should be on crafting content that evokes the promise of sunshine, relaxation, and escape.

Think about highlighting special offers for early bird bookings, showcasing local events happening during the summer months, or even creating blog posts about the best beaches or restaurants near your villa. This kind of targeted content resonates with people planning their holidays and positions your villa as the perfect solution.

How a New Hero Section Can Attract More Villa Guests

The hero section – that prominent area at the top of your website – is prime real estate. It's the first thing visitors see, and it needs to make a powerful impression.

Let’s work on your copy + hero section

A tired, outdated hero section can immediately turn potential guests away.

A compelling one, however, can draw them in and encourage them to explore further.

Think of your hero section as your villa's digital welcome mat.

It should instantly convey the essence of what you offer.

High-quality images or videos of your villa, stunning views, and happy guests are essential. But visuals alone aren’t enough.

Compelling copy is crucial. It should be concise, persuasive, and highlight the key benefits of booking your villa.

Think about focusing on what makes your property unique.

Is it the private pool? The breathtaking sea view? The proximity to local attractions?

Does a Website Refresh, Including the Hero Section, Help?

Absolutely. It does help client acquisition.

Numerous studies highlight the importance of a strong hero section.

For example,

Research suggests that approximately 55% of visitors spend only 15 seconds actively on a website.

That means you have a very short window to capture their attention.

A well-designed hero section can significantly increase engagement and reduce bounce rates.

Furthermore, A/B testing has shown that

Changes to a hero section, including copy and imagery, can lead to a 20-30% increase in conversion rates.

A/B testing here: the new hero section under Variation 1 had higher conversions (it included a CTA- a click-to-action button, see text below)

Very similar to that would be changing the headlines inside your blog article and even your webpages’ meta descriptions.

After all, you want more clicks on your website.

These figures above underscore the significant impact a refreshed hero section can have on attracting more customers and, ultimately, boosting bookings.

Can a Website’s New Hero Section Drive Villa Bookings in February?

The answer is a resounding YES.

By strategically updating your website copy, particularly within the hero section, you can effectively target those planning their summer vacations in February.

Showcase the unique appeal of your villa, highlight any special offers, and create a sense of urgency to encourage bookings. Consider adding a clear call to action, such as "Book Now" or "Check Availability," to make it easy for visitors to take the next step.

So, don't underestimate the power of a well-crafted website to transform browsers into bookers.
